Rogue Most Wanted - A Review

Posted by Krishna Kapadia on

I am a really avid reader of romance books - particularly historical romance! I don't know when I got addicted to these but it seems like over the years the has become my go-to genre whenever I'm feeling like I want a break from life! These books always have the perfect amount of drama, spice and depth... they also make great summer and travel reads ;)

I was lucky enough to get the ARC of 'Rogue Most Wanted' by Janna MacGregor. It is the 5th book in the Cavensham Heiresses Series. Thank you so much Inksliger PR for sending me this book because it was a delight to read this one!! I would totally rate this book a 4.5 star read!!

Synopsis:
Thea has inherited the title and estate of Ladykyrk, but now her grandfather's heir wants to challenge her claim and take it over! Her only option is to find a husband and get a betrothal before the hearing for the estate. Her elderly neighbour Lady Payne, on hearing about her problems, promises to help Thea find the perfect husband! William Cavensham has been burned in love before and cannot fathom his aunt's matchmaking. He is determined to help Thea, but not necessarily by marrying her. What follows is a story high on emotions, wit, humour and quintessential peerage problems!!

Review:
This is my first book by the author and I can safely say that I will be looking for the other books. I loved the fact that this book is a different take on the typical titled gentleman meets a sweet gentlewoman - because in this book it is Thea who has the title and Will who is the second son of a duke!
The best part about this book is the little excerpts of 'The Midnight Cryer' between the chapters... it totally reminded me of Lady Whistledown from Julia Quinn's Bridgerton Series but more like a nasty version of it!! I am a die hard fan of Julia Quinn's writing and this touch only made me love this book more!
The characters are built beautifully and their friendship (with bursts of unspoken lust) has been well crafted and the little mystery of the estate charter is taken nicely through the story along with the budding romance.
Will is a complete sweetheart and I love the fact that there was no need for a rake in this particular story. I mean I love a good reformed rake but this guy is just adorable and highly intelligent to boot (can you tell I have the hots for him :P)

I would totally recommend this book to anyone who wants a light and lovely read that is super sweet and still got all the feels!!
